What is Speed Sprint?
Speed Sprint has been developed to address the possibility of Wi-Fi latency effect causing arming issues in a drill where velocities are very high, and gates are close together. This issue can be seen as a gate not being armed before the athlete arrival. It can be noticeable in busy Wi-Fi environments, but not always.
In normal operation, gates are ‘enabled’ sequentially, with next target gate being lit green immediately after the prior gate has been triggered.
In Speed Sprint mode, all gates are armed, pre-test start. You will note that all gates will have a Green light flashing indicating the armed state. As each gate is triggered, the Green light extinguishes. In this way the issue of Wi-Fi latency is avoided.
We recommend Speed Sprint mode be used on any straight sprint test.
